Proof of professional experience in PR or related fields (advertising, marketing or journalism); this required practical experience varies from 1 to 2 years depending on the previous training.

For the Brevet Fédéral :

To be eligible to take the federal examinations, participants must have professional experience in PR or related fields (advertising, marketing or journalism); the required practical experience varies from 2 to 6 years depending on the previous training.

Basic knowledge of marketing or sales

To have at least 2 years of proven professional experience in the fields of communication, advertising, public relations, marketing, sales or direct/dialogue marketing and can provide proof of one of the following qualifications:

  • Federal certificate of proficiency as a businessperson
  • Federal certificate of proficiency in a graphic arts profession of at least three years’ duration
  • Federal certificate of proficiency in a sales profession lasting at least three years
  • Diploma from a commercial college recognised by SERI
  • Diploma from a cantonally recognised diploma secondary school of at least three years’ duration
  • Matura (all types)
    Diploma of a higher vocational examination for commercial professions
  • Diploma from a university or university of applied sciences in the commercial field
  • Professional certificate for PR specialists, marketing specialists, sales specialists or another federal certificate of proficiency, diploma or degree from a college or university and has at least 3 years of proven professional experience in the fields of communication, advertising, public relations, marketing, sales or direct/dialogue marketing.

An application to check whether a candidate is admitted to the examination can be submitted to Kommunikation Schweiz for a contribution towards costs of CHF 150. This amount will be deducted from the invoice if the candidate registers for the course in Communication Specialists at SAWI.
